Zoe Empowers Partnership- Kenya

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11

We decided to sponsor an empowerment group of orphans that named themselves Umoja (Unity) Gitulu. Through our sponsorship Zoe will provide the orphans and their siblings with secure food and housing, health and hygiene, teach them child rights, access to education, business skills and financial fluency, vocational training, community reintegration, spiritual strength, and much more. This sponsorship also allows us to visit with our group yearly. The length of the program is from 2024-2027 providing them self-sufficiency away from charity.

"The Zoe Empowers model is distinctive and effective because of its focus on self-sufficiency to serve children to have stronger families. The goal is to not do anything for program participants that they could otherwise do for themselves. Our approach has proven that orphans have the necessary gifts and abilities to overcome extreme poverty; they lack only opportunity and support. Once on the path toward self-sufficiency, every child becomes increasingly independent, quickly moving beyond the need for charity, both in the present and future." - zoeempowers.org

"We believe that orphaned youth, when empowered by a supportive community, can lead their own journey from extreme poverty to self-sufficiency, eliminating the need for endless aid." - zoeempowers.org

The Zoe graduates gain the skills and drive while in the program to escape relying on any charity. Becoming driven individuals with love for the Lord that words cannot express. As they say, "bwana asifiwe" (praise God).

Pastoring within a Zoe group

In each Zoe Empowers group within Kenya one of the orphans rise up to pastor them. Leading their group through the word and finding hope in Jesus.
